EuroBasket Women 2011 silver medallists Turkey will face Japan and Puerto Rico in Group A

On Wednesday, hosts Turkey, France, the Czech Republic and Croatia discovered which teams they will face at the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Ankara.

Turkey were drawn in Group A against Japan and Puerto Rico while in Group B, the Czechs were paired with Argentina and New Zealand.

In Group C, Croatia will meet Korea in a fascinating encounter along with Mozambique.

Coach Pierre Vincent and France will go up against Canada and Mali in Group D.

Five places for the Olympics are up for grabs and the European teams, judging from the 2008 qualifying event, could very well take four of them.

In Madrid four years ago, Latvia, the Czechs, Spain and Belarus all won their Quarter-Finals to progress to the Beijing Games.

All four teams have already secured their place in EuroBasket Women 2013, alongside the reigning European champions Russia and Olympic Games hosts Great Britain.

Turkey have never had such a great opportunity to reach the Olympic Games.

Their national team coach, said: "I trust my players.

"I hope that we will go to the Olympic Games."
