Elisa Aguilar had a team-high 12 points for Spain.

Spain rebounded from their upset at Sweden over the weekend by thumping Germany in Group D of the EuroBasket Women Qualification Round, 66-39.

Lucas Mondelo's side dominated the encounter in Avila, forcing 21 German turnovers en route to their second victory in three games.

Elisa Aguilar had 12 points and Amaya Valdemoro 11 as Spain won with a balanced scoring attack.

The headline performance was turned in by Laura Nicholls, though, who set the tone on defense with four blocks and three steals.

She ended the game with nine rebounds.

Spain finished the first quarter with two free-throws by Nicholls and a jump shot by Cristina Ouvina for a 16-12 lead.

The run continued into the second with Valdemoro reeling off four straight points and Aguilar burying a jumper for a 22-12 advantage.

Germany were within striking distance at half-time, trailing 35-23.

After the restart, the visitors twice closed the gap to just nine.

Spain went back in front 46-32 by the end of the third quarter and then put the result beyond doubt at the start of the fourth by scoring the frame's first nine points for a 51-32 stranglehold on the game.

Romy Bär had 13 points and eight rebounds for Germany, who fell to 1-1 with the defeat.
