"Italy is a very good team, they won in Greece some days ago. They played with great aggressiveness and intensity. Our low percentages  made the difference in the end, although we played a good first half."

Taru Tuukkanen, Finland:
"We played well in the first half of the game but worse in the second and Italy took the lead. Italy is a young team but with a lot of quality. Italy played with determination and aggressiveness. They have a good chance of qualifying to EuroBasket Women 2013."

Roberto Ricchini, Italy coach:
"It is a very important victory. the final result might be decisive if [qualification] comes down to the goal averages. We showed that we are a team with character. Finland stayed close, but we never lowered our levels of intensity. We are already thinking about Latvia, which I think is the strongest team in the group."

"We started well, then we had some difficulty until halftime. In the second half we managed to stop Tukkannen with Wabara's defense and we got a great advantage. Now we are turning our attention to the game against Latvia; we want to win and qualify."
