| 27.06.2012 EUROBASKET WOMEN QUALIFIERS Greece cruised to their second victory in the EuroBasket Women Qualification Round on Wednesday. Alekos Daglas' team snapped a two-game losing skid and improved to 2-2 in Group E with an 85-59 triumph at Luxembourg. Greece trailed 12-11 but went in front for good 3:30 into the contest when Zoi Dimitrakou scored to start a 9-0 run. The visitors led by as many as 16 points in the first half before going to the break in front, 45-31. Artemis Spanou and Katerina Sotiriou each had eight points at half-time for the Greeks. After the restart, Luxembourg matched the visitors blow for blow in the third quarter before Greece pulled away in the fourth, outscoring them 23-13 in the last frame. Greece shot seven of 16 from long range in the victory. Cathy Schmit had 12 points for Luxembourg. |
