They stretched the advantage to 20-7 with 2:12 still to go in the opening frame on a three-pointer by Ivana Jalcova.

Slovenia, without injured star Maja Erkic, who averaged 10.7 points in her seven Qualification Round games, fought back with an 8-0 run to pull to within 20-15.

Tina Trebec had four points in that spurt.

On top 27-21 with 5:04 to go in the first half, the Slovak Republic scored 15 of the game's next 18 points for a 42-24 advantage and they cruised to victory.

Timea Sujova had 16 points and Katarina Tetemondová 15 for the winners.

Slovenia had a bright start to the Qualification Round, winning four of their first five games, but they lost their last three.
