EUROBASKET WOMEN QUALIFIERS
|Montenegro are one of eight teams who already punched their ticket to the EuroBasket Women Final Round in France 2013|
Eight teams have clinched their spots at the EuroBasket Women Final Round prematurely with one game day still to come on Saturday.
The eight teams will join hosts France and the Olympic-bound Russia, Turkey, Great Britain, Croatia and Czech Republic in the Final Round.
Belarus held off Ukraine in Group A to seal their appearance in France next summer. First spot in the group is not guaranteed however, with Hungary having the advantage over Belarus in a potential tie.
In Group B, Montenegro made sure they will return to the Final Round for only the second time after their debut in 2011. They will do so from top spot in their group since they have won the head-to-head with both Poland and Serbia.
Slovakia and Lithuania made it out of Group C and the Slovaks can even grab first place with a win over Slovenia in the last game on Saturday.
Group D saw former Division B team Sweden stun the competition and grab first place in the group with power house Spain coming in second.
Latvia were anxiously watching the game between Italy and Greece in Group E and had much to celebrate as the Azzurre held off Hellas to guarantee the Baltic side another EuroBasket Women Final Round appearance. Italy cannot be removed from first place and the Latvians come in second.
There are four teams still in contention for the two remaining spots at the EuroBasket Women Final Round in France next year.
Hungary and Ukraine play it out in Yuzhne on Saturday with the winner going to play in France. Hungary can even grab top spot in Group A.
Serbia are in the driving seat in Group B, having the better goal average in a head-to-head with Poland and a three team tie involving Montenegro. Poland will need to beat Switzerland and hope for Serbia to fall in Estonia.
